To meet the growing needs of the Texas Medical Center – West Campus and The Energy Corridor, Dallas-based Western International has purchased 5.2 acres where they will develop a pair of hotels, a Courtyard by Marriott and a Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton. Western International chose Wolff Companies’ Ten Oaks development because of its location at the corner of Barker-Cypress Road and Park Row, across the street from the Texas Children’s and Methodist’s West Houston hospitals and within walking distance of major employers such as Wood Group, Mustang Engineering and Sercel, as well as robust development standards. The two 135-room hotels are slated to break ground this summer.
“Hotels such as the Courtyard by Marriott and the Hampton Inn & Suites offer families and business travelers very convenient options, whether they are in need of accommodations for overnight or over a week,” said David W. Hightower, executive vice president and chief development officer, Wolff Companies. “So, we are excited to be able to provide more choices for the West Houston community.”
Western International already had a presence in The Corridor having developed the Residence Inn in Wolff Companies’ Park 10 development and the Marriott Hotel at Interstate 10 and Park Ten Blvd.
“The strong growth of The Energy Corridor coupled with the expansions of the Texas Medical Center - West Campus make the Ten Oaks site an ideal location to meet the growing demand for lodging in the area,” said Michael H. Mahoney, President of Western International.
